Pomerol is a French red wine with a registered designation of origin produced in the municipality of Pomerol and part of those of Libourne and Lalande-de-Pomerol. This is an appellation of the Libournais vineyard, one of the subdivisions of the Bordeaux vineyard.
This appellation is famous for its most famous wines, Pétrus, Le Pin, Lafleur, Nénin, La Conseillante, Gazin, Maillet, Rouget and many others. It produces exclusively red wine and, if almost all the Bordeaux grape varieties can be used (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, côt, etc.), it is the Merlot which clearly predominates, even representing 100% of the grape varieties in some vintages, such as Le Pin.
